Division C

Doretha Pair

My name is Doretha Pair and I am a candidate for Division Director for Division C, District 66. I joined
Toastmaster in November 2017. My membership into Toastmasters came by way of SpeakDOT
Toastmasters.
Since becoming a Toastmaster, I have experienced many challenging and rewarding moments. My
communication and leadership skills have greatly improved. Whenever I must do any public speaking, I
am more confident and relaxed, and I owe it all to being in Toastmasters.
I have served in several roles since joining the organization and each role that I have served in has been
a plus. I have served as President and Vice President Education. I am currently serving as the Vice
President Education for a second time in SPEAKDOT and Area 33 Director for Division C, District 66. I
have completed the requirements for Train-the-Trainer. I am a certified trainer for the District and a
Credentials Mentor.
I am currently working on Level 3 in the Engaging Humor Path. I have completed the Presentation
Mastery and the Dynamic Leadership Paths. My goal is to complete this Path during the next
Toastmaster year.
In my spare time, I like to take long walks and compete in short distance races. I’ve competed in over
one hundred and twenty 5K/10K runs. I’ve also competed in the 2021 Area 32 Speech Contest and
Division C Speech Contest and I won both contest. I also love to read and learn new things.
I am running for the Division C Director because I would like to help the clubs achieve their highest
potential in growth and educational awards. By serving as an Area Director, I have a much better work
knowledge of how I can help the clubs advance to the next level. I love serving and I have a passion for
working with people. I know my experience and skills as a leader will benefit Division C and the District
if I am elected.
Therefore, I am asking for your vote, and I look forward to serving you, the Division, the District, and
Toastmasters. I know I can make a difference and your vote would be greatly appreciated.

Division C

Karen Robinson

Serving as Area 32 Director for the 2021-2022 Toastmasters year has opened my eyes to a whole new Toastmasters world.  This experience has helped me to form a much deeper appreciation for not only Toastmasters as a whole, but even more so for those serving in District leadership.  Since joining Toastmasters in 2018, I have served as a club officer in the roles of Vice President of Public Relations, Vice President of Education, and club President.  I have completed the Dynamic Leadership path and am currently enrolled in and am about to complete both the Persuasive Influence and Team Collaboration paths.  Beyond the club level, Toastmasters offers an abundance and variety of opportunities to harness and develop even more leadership skills, a point that I believe is unrealized by many members.  If elected as Division C Director, I will focus not only on supporting clubs and helping them achieve their personal and club goals, but also on ensuring that members are aware that Toastmasters is much more than an organization devoted to the development of public speakers.  To accomplish this, I plan on developing an education program for Area Directors to present at Area Council meetings.

As a proud employee of Chesterfield County’s Parks and Recreation Department, I have 15 years of leadership experience, leading our department to achieve national accreditation in 2018.  In my role as the department’s Administrative Analyst, I am also responsible for leading our strategic planning and accreditation maintenance efforts.  Outside of work hours, you’re likely to find me running a trail, reading nonfiction, or cooking delicious, healthy meals.
