Member Development Plan

As you may have heard, the District Trio is encouraging all members to complete a Member Development Plan. A link to the plan template is below.

Our main goal this year is to serve and support our members.  Your Member Development Plan is critical to informing club and district leaders know how to best serve you. It is key in developing Club, Area, Division, and District Success Plans for this Toastmaster year.

Please complete and return the Member Development Plan to your club Vice President Education by August 15, 2024. The District has a goal for 75% of all members to have a Member Development Plan. Completion of this plan is also a determination in the Toastmaster of the Year and Club of the Year incentive competitions.

Officer Training is also available from other Districts. Check out the make up classes on the D66 website  https://tmdistrict66.org/events-calendar/

If you attend another District’s training, please be sure to take a screenshot of yourself and ask their PQD to confirm attendance.

Annual Business Meeting Reminder

As a reminder to Club Presidents and Secretaries, make your voices heard in selecting International Officers and Board members at the Toastmasters convention. If you have not already done so, please assign your club’s proxy votes so that the District trio may vote on your behalf at the Annual Business Meeting before August 9, 2024. Information on how to do this can be found at

 https://toastmasterscdn.azureedge.net/medias/files/department-documents/club-documents/737-proxy-credentials-abm.pdf.

Club Success Plan - Reminder

A reminder to all club officers, please complete your Club Success Plan and submit it to your Area Director (AD) by August 15, 2024. These plans are key to creating the Area, Division, and District Success plans for this year. The plan template can be found in Club Central or use this link to download from the Toastmaster website.

https://www.toastmasters.org/resources/1111a-club-success-plan

Completion of this plan by August 15th will qualify your club to enter a raffle for a gift certificate to the Toastmaster’s store and is also a criteria for determining the Division and District Club of the Year incentive competitions.

You will need to download the plan and attach it to an email to your ADs – they aren’t visible to others. If you don’t know how to contact your AD, you can send it to your Division Director.

Toastmaster of the Year Reminder

The time has come to identify an individual who is worthy to be named Toastmasters of the Year. This individual has shown an outstanding job in supporting their club, area, and district during the 2023-2024 year. This individual must not have served as a district officer for 2023-2024 year. We would like to acknowledge those who have been more or less behind the scenes making a difference in their club and community.

When nominating this individual think about how they have served Toastmasters. Did they serve on committees, did they conduct training for the members, did they mentor, did they bring in new members, did they excel in their educational awards? What makes them stand out from other toastmasters? Please submit a paragraph or more describing their accomplishments and how they have serve Toastmasters.

We ask you to submit your nominations by August 31, 2024. The winner will be announced at our 100th Anniversary and Awards luncheon scheduled for October 26, 2024, at the DoubleTree in Williamsburg. Please save the date and let’s celebrate our grand achievements of being award winners.

Please send in your nominations to ipdd@tmdistrict66.org by August 31, 2024.

Sincerely,
Tishaun Harris-Ugworji, DTM
